The Total Demize Soccer Club (Demize) is proud to announce the addition of Luis Percovich to the Professional Coaching Staff. "It is exciting to have Luis. He will be an integral part of the Demize organization by developing and coaching youth players in Southwest Missouri," said Chris Hanlon, Director of Coaching, Total Demize Soccer Club.
Luis started playing club soccer for Colegio San Agustin in Peru, South America. At the age of 12, he moved with his family to Florida and continued to play club and high school soccer. Luis received an athletic scholarship to play soccer at East Central College in Union, Missouri, where he helped his team to a NJCAA Region XVI Championship in 2008, received MCCAC 2nd Team All-Conference in 2008 (his freshman year), and 1st Team All-Conference in 2009, highlighted by NJCAA Academic All-American honors while completing his Associates Degree in Psychology. Upon graduating from East Central College, Luis received another soccer scholarship from William Woods University in Fulton, MO, to complete his collegiate eligibility. He received the following during his career at William Woods: 2010 AMC Defensive Player of the Week (twice), 2010 and 2011 All-AMC Honorable Mention and 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete Squad. He graduated from William Woods with his BA in Psychology and continued his playing career in the United Soccer Leagues’ (USL) Premier Development Program.
"Luis played in the USL Premier Development Program for the St. Louis Lions in 2011. He made quite an impression on the Demize coaching staff, so when the opportunity came in 2012 for us to sign him to play for the Springfield Demize, we jumped at the chance. We were very excited to bring such a talented defender to the team," says Armen Tonianse, former head coach, Springfield Demize. Luis will continue to play for the Springfield Demize PDL and PASL teams while coaching.
As a coach, Luis has worked with youth soccer teams while in high school, developed teams in his home community, and coached college summer camps for high school players. When he returned to Florida after the Springfield Demize season this past summer, Luis became the Assistant Coach at Coconut Creek High School for the men and women’s teams. Luis will be primarily working with the youth teams and high school boys team for the Total Demize Soccer Club.
