In 2009, Brixey was a record breaker his senior year at Glendale High School taking second place in State. Playing in the defensive midfielder position his duty was to break up the opposing team's play, and feed the midfielders on the counter attack.

Starting at 13 years old Brixey played 5 years for the Springfield Demize Soccer Academy, formerly known as the Total Demize Soccer Club. Upon graduating from Glendale, he was offered several opportunities to play D2 in college. However Ben decided to stay in Springfield Missouri, attending Missouri State and change his focus from playering to coaching for the Springfield Demize Academy.

During Brixeys five year span coaching for the Demize he has coached almost every age group. First climbing the ladder as the Director of the Little Stars, ages 3-6. Later taking on head coaching positions for teams under ten years old. His teams have won several gold medals at 3v3 tournaments, and he had two teams that finished top of the LCS Winter Futsal league this past season with both the SDA U8 and SDA U9 boys taking top honors.
