The Demize PASL team won in come-back fashion against Barilleros FC from Kansas City with a dominate second half performance to win 10-6 and improve their undefeated record to 6-0. The win solidifies a spot in Nationals next month and 9 points clear of second place Omaha.
In a game of two completely different halves, the team gave up three goals on four shots in the first quarter, but fought back in the second quarter to halve the deficit at 4-2. There was never a shortage of shots taken by Demize with 30 shots on goal in the first half, which has been the club’s average for entire games. However, they could only find the back of the next twice in the first half.
The first three minutes of second half saw a quick goal from Rian Marques, two goals from Erik Pereira, and a goal from Seth Adu to quickly give Demize the lead 6-4. Solid defense and ball possession kept the opposing Barilleros FC scoreless the rest of the quarter.
The fourth quarter was similar to the third in that Demize scored four times with goals from Rian Marques, Michel Allou, Winder Pessoa, and Matheus Ferreira.
The team will have next weekend off, but are looking forward to the friendly match against Wichita Wings in two weeks. The game will be on February 15th at 7pm at Hartman Arena in Wichita, KS. Make plans to carpool and caravan to the game, and be sure to check on social media for details on the game.
