Coach Marcos has been coaching youth soccer in Joplin for 15 years.  He started out as a volunteer coach at the Joplin YMCA for 2 years before moving his oldest son to the Boys and girls club soccer program.  He coached there until his oldest son started his Freshman year at Joplin HS.  

Later he began coaching his youngest son, Matteo, at the Webb City Soccer Club.  He coached there for several years and than was asked to bring his team to the Webb City Storm Soccer Club and recruit a more competitive group of boys.   His team traveled to Tulsa, OK; Springfield, MO; and Springdale, AR for tournaments and league play.  

When the Joplin Demize was formed in 2013, coach Marcos brought his team over to Demize Soccer Academy.  Under the tutelage of Director of Coaching Luis Percovich (JDA) and Chris Hanlon (SDA) soon, Coach Marcos was helping assist and coach all the teams in the new Joplin Demize Academy program.

In 2016, after 1 year at Joplin High School as an assistant, he would become the Director of Coaching for Joplin Demize Academy.  Since becoming the director has coached several championship teams including the 2016 LCS spring league champion (JDA U12 boys) with a record 7 wins and 1 tie, the 2017 LCS winter league(U13/14 boys) and the 2017 Lady Demize HS Girls team in which both went undefeated. 

Coach Marcos is dedicated to not only teach the beautiful game of soccer, but to also give players the opportunity to become better teammates.  He strives to make his players ready to reach the next level and for that all the young athletes come to respect his desire to make not only the players better but to make this area better.  

Chris Hanlon

Hanlon was a standout goalkeeper with the University of Pittsburgh Panthers men's soccer program (est. 1954) earning his spot on the all-time Pitt goalkeeping records list. He currently holds records in shutouts in a single season (4th), wins in single season (6th) career shutouts (5th), career least goals against (3rd) and career least goals against average (7th).

 After finishing his collegiate career, Hanlon moved on to play with the Sioux City Breeze, Des Moines Menace, Springfield Storm, Springfield Demize in the United Soccer Leagues (USL) and with the Saint Louis Steamers in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). He has played abroad in Canada, England, Spain, Trinidad and Tobago and throughout the U.S.

As a collegiate coach, Hanlon was an assistant Drake University, Grandview College and Missouri State University. At the Youth level, Hanlon coached for Iowa United Soccer Club where he won multiple state championships on the both boys and girls sides. At the Region-II Championships in 2001, his U18 boys made it the Final Four playing up in the U19 division.

During his ten year time span coaching within the Olympic Development Program (ODP) Hanlon has had the opportunity to coach in Eastern Pennsylvania, Iowa and Missouri. While in Iowa, Chris had the opportunity to coach his brother, David Hanlon, who was a member U14, U15 and U16 US National Teams.  Chris also served as a Assistant Coach for Ankeny High School boy's and girl's teams.
Hanlon currently is the Founder and Director of Coaching for the Springfield Demize Academy and the Director of Soccer Operations and Head Coach for the Demize National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) team. He has also served in a variety of roles in coaching and the management side of the game, including time as a general manager and head coach for the Springfield Storm and Springfield Demize Premier Development League (PDL) teams and the Springfield Demize Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL) team. He also serves as the Co-Chairman for the NPSL Pro Combine Technical Commitee and as the South Central Conference Liason to the NPSL's executive board.
Hanlon holds the National ( Distinguished Pass ), Advanced National and Premier Diplomas with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and has 20 years of professional coaching experience.

Luis Percovich

Luis started playing club soccer for Colegio San Agustin in Peru, South America. At the age of 12, he moved with his family to Florida and continued to play club and high school soccer. Luis received an athletic scholarship to play soccer at East Central College in Union, Missouri, where he helped his team to a NJCAA Region XVI Championship in 2008,  received MCCAC 2nd Team All-Conference in 2008 (his freshman year), and 1st Team All-Conference in 2009, highlighted by NJCAA Academic All-American honors while completing his Associates Degree in Psychology. Upon graduating from East Central College, Luis received another soccer scholarship from William Woods University in Fulton, MO, to complete his collegiate eligibility.  He received the following during his career at William Woods: 2010 AMC Defensive Player of the Week (twice), 2010 and 2011 All-AMC Honorable Mention and 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete Squad. He graduated from William Woods with his BA in Psychology and continued his playing career in the United Soccer Leagues’ (USL) Premier Development Program.
"Luis played in the USL Premier Development Program for the St. Louis Lions in 2011. He made quite an impression on the Demize coaching staff, so when the opportunity came in 2012 for us to sign him to play for the Springfield Demize, we jumped at the chance. We were very excited to bring such a talented defender to the team," says Armen Tonianse, former head coach, Springfield Demize. After playing in the USL for 2 years, Luis returned to Florida to serve as the Assistant Coach at Coconut Creek High School for the men and women’s teams.

Currently, Luis is the Director of Coaching for the Joplin Demize Academy and Assistant General manager for the Joplin Demize NPSL team. During his 2014 with the team, he served as the technical Director and start at the Center Back position.
