Demize NPSL Announces Head Coach

Matthew Caley takes the reigns

Demize NPSL Announces Head Coach

Demize NPSL announce Matthew Caley as the teams head coach. “I believe Matthew is exactly who the Demize needs at the reins to take the next step in the teams maturation both on and off the field.” stated DSO Chris Hanlon. “Matt played collegiately at Drury University so he already has existing ties to our city and soccer community."  Matt has been working on the team’s roster since February when he accepted the job. “With the team’s success on the field the last few seasons, players from all over the country and world have interest in playing for the Demize NPSL team, which is very exciting to be a part of. I’m looking forward to the upcoming season - my goal is to win the conference championship and represent the Heartland at the regional level of playoffs.” stated Matthew.

Matt is currently the assistant coach at the University of Louisiana Monroe, where they just finished a record-breaking season of 14-5-1. He has previously worked as academy director of Liverpool FC Illinois Chicago, as well as with clubs affiliated with West Ham and Chelsea.

During his playing career, Matt was a semi-professional Center back in the United Kingdom for Hastings United and Halstead Town football clubs. He represented Essex and captained his district on numerous occasions throughout his formative years. He captained Plume Football College in his final year and lead the team to three trophies. He also played at Brighton University and Drury University, where the team was nationally-ranked in the top 25 for two of the three years he played and reached the sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament. Matt is currently working towards his USSF B license.
